Berliner Hemp Crescents
for approximately 60 pieces
280 g | flour |
100 g | ground hemp seeds |
200 g | butter |
70 g | sugar |
2 | egg yolks |
1 | pinch of salt |
5 tablespoons | vanilla sugar |
50 g | sifted powdered sugar |
Mix the sifted flour with the hemp seeds, then knead it with the butter, sugar, egg yolks, and salt into a shortcrust.
Wrap up the dough and let it set for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Form the dough into small rolls. Cut them into five centimeter long pieces, and bend them into a crescent form. Lay them on baking paper on top of a baking sheet.
Bake them on the middle rack of the preheated oven for 10 minutes until they are golden brown.
Mix the vanilla sugar and powdered sugar, and roll the crescents around in the mixture while they are still warm.
